Hi,

Just wondering on how you are using bitcoin to recieve payments ?

  • have a coinbase/ payment provider account and create a payment link
  • Just send you address to the other guy and he sends you the btc required

While it is more suitable for businesses to use payment links, I find myself using just the addresses for individual transactions. I find copying my address and sending it in email, time consuming. Also sometimes , I am afraid that I would send the wrong address/ mistype it, so I compare the address two / three times.
I was thinking about
  • address shortener , or a service that could maybe map my emailid to address , something like www.xx.com/addr/myaddr@gmail.com
  • Something to cross verify that address belongs that same user, you can trying to send btc to . Maybe a directory or something ?

I know there in a issue of trust with a directory provider that he could manipulate things internally, any innovate ways to get around this. Do you have similar issues with remembering / storing addresses ?

you can try firstbits address or www.minaddress.info which can make the address shorter without trust issues.
