This may not be directly related to the de-listing, but is related to blockchain.info security level.

Blockchain.info wallet users have lost hundreds of bitcoin in the last 2 days due to https://github.com/blockchain/My-Wallet/commit/98d5a7ca59ef04d06ac6aee468634b12975a0f5c

Fortunately, someone noticed the bug, took the bitcoin temporarily to keep it safe from bad guys and returned 255 btc to blockchain.info. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=581411.msg9791998#msg9791998

It is true that blockchain.info don't have your private keys normally, but their bugs could still make you lose your bitcoin.

The removal happened before that incident.

as a beginner i started at botcoin.org and chose my wallet at Blockchain.info at https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet but today i saw that it is removed.
so what happened?
is it no longer providing services or something?
what did i miss

Blockchain.info has had some security issues recently and people have lost their Bitcoins.
See this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=581411.0

In short, there is a bug in how blockchain.info generates BTC addresses, so it is possible for someone else to get hold of your private keys and steal your BTC.

That's why it was removed from listing.

I for one wouldn't trust ANY online wallet. Better to keep all funds on cold wallet.

The removal happened before that incident.

johoe exposed the issue in August last year, so this goes long back.

Blockchain.info is on vacation.
They will back after Christmas or CNY Roll Eyes

They'll be listed at bitcoin.org soon. No worries.

Life sucks.

what does it mean "on vacation", vacation has no meaning for such a website!

you look more like a joke

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

What I'm trying to say was, blockchain.info isn't listed on bitcoin.org.
But it will be back on that list, soon.

What I meant by "on vacation" was blockchain.info has been unlisted on bitcoin.org for being not secure enough.

You guys really take my word as a joke....
Read page 1 & 2 of this topic.

Quote from: newflesh
It's a 60 day timeout, and may be re-listed depending on what improvements have been rolled out.

They are not listed on bitcoin.org and will be re-listed back on bitcoin.org after their website is safe enough.(It sounds like they are on vacation...to me.)

Life sucks.

Did you just read the thread title lol?

People here are talking about blockchain.info has been delisted from https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet, but not about the disappearance of the wallet service.

Blockr is a good block explorer, but it doesn't offer a wallet service at all.
Since the thread is about web wallet service, Green Address or BitGo are better substitutes.

Not sure if the security on the blockchain wallet is compromised because I've never lost any btc in there. If ever your account was hacked by another person, it will show in your history of your wallet.

Never knew that the wallet service of blockchain is removed from bitcoin.org
