Having followed this board since Bitcoin was $1,200 I think it would be awesome to see someone summarize all of the overly optimistic
"1,000 has to be the floor'
"Bitcoin can't go lower than 800, it will never happen."
"630 is a steal, these people are insane for selling at these prices"
'who are these idiots selling at 400$?!?!'

There have been some epically bad quotes about certain prices being impossible or unfathomable and he we are at ~$270. Curious what is it going to take to start seeing some, "well shit looks like I was completely wrong posts." Tongue

I'm not going to even be a little bit surprised to see double digits in the future. I of course was called retarded for stating this several months back. I feel like we are going to see a flash crash here soon.

On an unrelated note, anybody see that reference to Bitcoin on whose line is it anyway where the lady says she'll pay the guy in Bitcoin because it's worthless.

*Disclaimer Bitcoin will be very successful someday but it's going to see some dark ages well before that.

2$, noway that can ever happen again! ( Smiley )

I wish I had some way to reward someone for doing the work of putting a post like that together, maybe one full of the worst quotes. I could mail them some money maybe.

I just posted the same thing about too many bulltards.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=913322.0

I see the same as you, there are just too many people posting the same shit about it being a good time to buy, we won't go lower, back over $1000.

Nobody is writing that maybe this isn't a good investment, or it had its chance at going mainstream but failed. Just like you say.

It's going to get a lot uglier. No reason at all for it to go higher. Who is going to invest in something that has been falling consistently for over a year now.

Nobody really understands just how much a $300 bitcoin is and how much money it needs to keep it that high.

Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

Well effectively everything is being said at any time, and thus someone is bound to be right (how improbable it may sound at the time of utterance) and on the other hand, someone is bound to be wrong. This is how things go when there are literally hundreds and thousands of voices and opionions.

I should have gotten into Bitcoin back in 1992...

QFT.

Too much is attributed to intelligence that should be attributed to randomness.

Of course, it's good to call out those with strongly stated wrong advice. But don't take now as the word of God those who were correct either.

HODLing for the longest time. Skippin fast right around the moon. On a rocketship straight to mars.

I understand your logic but I'm more referring to the people that were militantly opposed to the possibility of Bitcoin dropping to certain values and regarding those ideas as being impossible and 'retarded'.

I understand folks will speculate but we moved beyond that when people started saying Bitcoin could never go below 500$, it just wasn't possible.

Yeah, you're right I guess. But come on... It's the speculation forum Cheesy This forum is made for those opinions. A lot of those people try to make themselves believe something or just want to stress out how convinced they are of something happening or not happening. Not everyone who says they're all in are in fact all in.

It would be funny to summarize all the memes that got it wrong in addition to the quotes. I remember one picture of a pissed off bloke with "you shorted at 400" written on it. It made me feel like an idiot for shorting at 400 until the price crashed far below it.

Well on the other hand there are enough quotes that call people stupid for buying at $10 per coin. It's just the same game over and over again in a highly volatile market... We can't possibly know for sure where the price is going.
