To John (johnthedong) who moved this topic almost instantly: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99027.0

Almost nobody read that obscure sub, Economy > Marketplace > Service Discussion

Given the two people I'm talking about are among this list of 20 (important) "active contributors to Bitcoin" : https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/People some caution should be taken .

Quote
Bitcoin Discussion
General discussion about the Bitcoin ecosystem that doesn't fit better elsewhere. News, the Bitcoin community, innovations, the general environment, etc. Discussion of specific Bitcoin-related services usually belongs in other sections.

This move make no sense unless you to move these too to Economy > Marketplace > Service Discussion
One could concur that If a problem is to big to be solved into one thread it's not to be solved at all.

[ANN] ResponsePay - Mobile Wallet, Subsidiary of WalletBit. New « 1 2 3  All »

This is HUGE: WIKISPEED, first car-maker in the world to accept Bitcoin New « 1 2 ... 6 7  All »

Public STATEMENT Regarding Bitcoinica account hack at MtGox New « 1 2 ... 19 20  All »

[ANN] Bitcoinica Consultancy abandons customers. Bitcoinica to enter Liquidation New « 1 2 ... 7 8  All »

[Payout Updates] Bitcoinica site is taken offline for security investigation New « 1 2 ... 84 85 »

This is not a kangaroo court - innocent until proven guilty New « 1 2  All »

Among many others, related to services

There has been talks amongst the mods for a temporary Bitcoinica subforum, just to house those threads that were clearly pushing other threads in Bitcoin Discussion down. Theymos and others agreed that they should be temporarily housed at Service Discussion, except for the three with the information from bitcoinica folks in it. I'm usually reluctant to move older threads (that was created before the new subforums were in place) to their new respective subforums unless there is new significant activity to prevent confusion. Anyway, I've moved the threads above with exception to the three threads and the the WIKISPEED one as I feel it encompasses elements that don't fit well in Service Announcement.

Feel free to use the 'Report to Moderator' button if you still see offending threads. We simply don't have the time to scour every old thread and move them to the newer subforums, and inadvertently necro-ing those threads.  I focus on moving newer threads that were created after the new subforums are in place.

Would you really feel better if we moved them all and didn't allow a single thread about bitcoinica in bitcoin discussion? I favored leaving the ones with actual information about it, since apparently the forums are the only way they communicate with customers, but I don't feel that strongly about it.

Edit:

The bitcoinica crew is also taking advantage of the fact that the people owed money can, on this forum, only express themselves buried into 90 pages threads of get moved into a service complain sub that nobody read.

Sorry but this isn't a bitcoinica forum/customer service/whatever.

I copy pasted the first half of that sentence, didn't put much thought into it.

I understand your concern, feel free to do what you think is best.

The forum has more problem than bitcoinica's communication to care about.
Without branching any thread with 50+ pages are indigestible.

Edit : An Highly maintained page like this could be a solution. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/2479243/TEMP/bitcoinica.htm
