http://satoshi.nakamotoinstitute.org/posts/p2pfoundation/3/

From his worlds we can see that he desired for the bitcoin to raise in value as more and more people come and the value increases to greater heights!

So he was a speculator indeed!

Speculators are typically sophisticated, risk-taking investors with expertise in the market(s) in which they are trading and will usually use highly leveraged investments such as futures and options.

Satoshi was a scientist, and that was a theory... scientists work on theories, that is, expectations of the future given certain data that you posses. It made sense for him that as adoption happened, price would go up. And it will, after this earthquake is done. Bill Gates is on the crypto game now, we'll see more and more adoption happening.

Or rather a hypothesis... Anyway the trading volume of Bitcoin remains extremely low compared to any fiat currency.

It will increase as the adoption rate increases, that's how currencies work in the free market, there aren't men with guns making sure it happens.
