So ive had this idea not sure if its good, not sure if its worth anymore thought... quick summary:

I figure a large % of the population seem unable to find correct information when posed with the need to find the correct information.

Simple Examples:

Person A has a health problem.  They hear a solution to this health problem on a TV advert and decide this will help them with limited other information (information search fail).  Perhaps the same person goes to a new doctor and follows their advice with limited other information (fail)

Person B has a problem with their washing machine, they go down to the local store to ask for the solution (fail)

Person C only reads yahoo articles for information on a subject (fail)

I could sum up what i think is the correct procedure to search for information to most problems (im sure most of you here are very proficient at information searching) but the test would need development, i can expand if needed itt.

So its an ISP test (information search proficiency) or just IP test (information proficiency) - workable idea?

'Information search proficiency' is not the main problem.
It's about trust.
Some people have too much of it, other people are trusting nobody at all.
Both extremes are bad.

Well i could make that a part of the "test" but you think the whole thing would work better as a 'who/what can you trust test/guide' hmmm yeah maybe.

so like it could be just a website where you fill in certain key words and the sites database gives a trust rating and possible warning signs to look out for...  anything like that currently exist ? so you put in a key words like:

yahoo article scores 4/10 - has some good info but also some extreme hype BS
new doctor scores 7/10 - medically trained but also still 1 person and the first doctor you've seen doesnt know you well.
going to store to find a fix for washing machine scores 5.5/10 - could be ok but possibly sell you some overpriced solution/service

obviously could be more in depth and could use public voting/reviews so not too centralized.
