Update (7/13): Just finished a fairly major code update. You all won't really notice the changes, but I need some people to test it out and let me know if you find any bugs. If it ever gives you a strange result or an error or anything, please tell me. Thanks!

It'd also be sweet if you could post here and tell me if everything works well. Smiley

Update 9/2/14

I used to have a BTC/mBTC/bits converter, but now it's a BTC/mBTC/bits/USD converter! Please try it out and let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Awesome, but what happened to EUR?
Have you considered adding HitBTC or Kraken for EUR?

Depends, which converter were you trying to use? This one (the one that creates an image) supports Eur and as far as I can tell it's working right now.

The simpler one does not currently support Eur. Did you need that? I can get that in there if you need it.

Also: Little bonus, I just added Satoshis to the simple converter. I'll be doing a bigger announcement when I have time.

Thanks for the interest! I think I've received a tip or two recently too, which are awesome! Cheesy

It's been awhile since I added anything cool to this so I figured it was time for an update. Check out the new color features!

Also: As I was revising this thread, I noticed that the BCT forum image proxy has been fixed to work perfectly with this converter, so now you can post prices here that automatically update! No Javascript or anything necessary, just a simple image!

---From OP---

Please let me know if you have ANY ideas or suggestions for how I could improve this tool.

Awesome 2.4 Update (3/1/15): Color Support!
This should be self explanatory but I think it's pretty darn awesome. Now you can make the image fit in with whatever your website's theme looks like. As usual, if you're willing, please take some time to test it out and let me know if you find any bugs. Thanks a ton!

'Type of Bitcoin' isn't good, use 'Unit if Bitcoin' instead. Smiley

NICE!!
How about EUR/BTC or some cryptocurrencies?

Added conversion to and from EUR. Just use the same URLs and add &eur=1 to the end.

I also added a frombtc.php page so that it wouldn't have to be tousd.php in case you were using Euros.

Hope this works, tips welcome!

Also, I probably won't do this for other cryptos because there's just too many to make this really worthwhile.
That is really nice, which backend do you use?

Dang, I hate when that happens... It's good now but I hope the problem doesn't persist. Thanks for letting me know!

Good call. That was a real easy fix and hopefully it makes more sense to people. Thanks!

It's PHP for the image and a little Javascript for the webpage. Is that what you meant by backend?

Yes

Also, I should have mentioned that pages like the frombtc.php page are really deprecated right now. Everything has been combined into one page (http://youmeandbtc.com/bitcoin-converter-php.php) and you can use this page to generate all the URLs you need.

No plans at the moment but it should take very little time to add anything you need. Is there a currency that you had in mind? I could probably knock it out in a few minutes.

CNY was a really good call. Just added it!

If you have a specific plan to use one of those other currencies, let me know and I can add them right away!

I really appreciate the offer and I'll keep that in mind. I'm not really sure if there's anything else that needs more development right now though. Did you have any ideas in mind?

I also appreciate the VPS offer. At the moment I'm not paying for my server but I'm still open to options. What sort of deal did you have in mind for that?

I've been super busy recently but I might be able to make time for that. What sort of information would you want to see in a tutorial?

Side note: I also just added CNY to our simpler converter.

Wanted to share that http://mycryptovault.net/ has integrated this tool into their website. Looks pretty awesome!

I've also noticed that there are a few German tobacco retailers that use us, like http://expresszigaretten.com/.
