Hello everyone, I had an interesting meeting tonight at a local Linux User – Meetup Group. This group consists of about 34 active members who meet for coffee ever other Sunday. Usually we cannot agree to even disagree about a topic of conversation . However by the end of the meeting I had planted the seed for an actual base of topic for the next few months or even years to come. That of-course is our precious  crypto currencies.

I spent out 30 minuets in a state of total happiness. I like talking Bitcoin and it's spinoffs. The drama that comes with it as well as the rewards. As any good geek would they all pretty much listened. Further eyes and ear perking happened when I talked Namecoin however. One member expressed how he would like to own a portion of the Darknet in the form of his own private email provider.. Next thing you know the whole group is down for it.

Next thing you know I'm shooting out links for the clients as well as everything else required to get started. Next thing you know our fearless club leader decides to place me in charge of a “Class” next week to help members get started, purchase and look at other methods of generating coin.

Now I don't know about you... some of you may already teach others offline the in's and out's of bitcoin often I don't know. But the area of the Western US I live in is rural. I figure if I pull this off the community has 30 more potential supporters to fight against the governments if they choose to start raising hell about it.

I also see potential for (Waynes Word Effect) they tell two friends and they tell two friends.. and so on... and so on.

I have about two weeks from tonight to prepare for this. I plan on as much “Coursework” as I can into a 45 minuet time block as I can.. I'm thinking however with all the basic security talk that will be needed to be discussed the course may need to be broken into 3 45minuet classes in the case of this group.

I figure a class would need a History to date on the who what where when and why the fuck for. Further the difference in clients, online services and the risks of all of them. The course would also discuss safe internet practice and remind individuals to use common sense(This alone being invaluable if they listen. Securing of wallets is a must do.

I think the fun part will be the transaction on the NMC to each individual. I remember the first time I received something through the blockhain. Yes for me it was memorable...I figure while that is happening one could discuss the merchant end of things, how developers benefit from it and maybe if it's not to overwhelming at that time talk about mining bitcoin

On my way home I had the idea to give at the very least 5NMC to each member in attendance of this class. That would give them plenty of starting power for one or more projects or if they choose to stick with the private personal email, options for alternate @ABC.bit.

By the end of the first night every member will be walking away with .bit domain names. It will be up to them (Homework in a sence) to have something to show and tell at the next meeting.

On hand I have enough NMC to gift 6 of the members a 5NMC starter package. I still need enough for 24 members. I plan on investing at-least 4 hours a night to compiling coursework as well as presentation visuals and so on. The end result should be something the pupil enjoys.

I plan on having a handout for each person to take home that will cover a few extras. Mostly what Bitcoin is not ie: A Game, A Get Rich Quick Scam etc. Once finished and the class is given I will report how it went as well as upload the raw documents for others to do the same if they so have the opportunity.

Having said all this I do need some NMC aid. At this current time I have an atypical sob story of why I'm broke in the digital currency world. Why  I can say is that if you do decide to support something like this you would be paid back if you so required. I'm looking at getting my miner hardware back online within the next 3 weeks. My wife and I our having a baby and he is due on sept 24th. I could have this paid off by Sept 13th.

If you so do decide to donate without payback I can offer the following to anyone in private that so wishes to verify that this domain credit is not being used for some shady intention.

Individual Member Emails
A Phone Number For The Club President
A Phone Number to the coffee shop
A list of the .bits registered by the end of the meeting night.

Also verbal or written advice and how-to is welcome for the course. If you have any suggestions of what should be covered and post them. I will insure at the very least a username is placed in the copy.

I will keep the community posted

This sounds great. If any of them are coders, NMC could use a little work. Browser plugins to integrate with namecoind would be excellent, especially if they supported certificate checking in the NMC blockchain.
