There are many uses:

 - some companies or people want a 2-letter with their initials.

 - Because it is easy to tell the 2-letter domain by telephone for example. My company is called MobileSpecialists.net what caused many clients in Germany to make some errors if they asked me by telephone. They then could not send me e-mail or visit my site. So I bought M-S.link too snice this can easy be remembered and not much spelling errors appear.

 - as a shortener

 - to generate better QR-2D-Codes for marketing

 - the domains are rare - only 676 / country - so they are interesting object of investment.
