Hello, i need help to chose coin for GPU mining. Basicly time I will use for mining is when I am doing some big downloads/uploads, becose I am leaving pc up tp 48h allmost unused, so I want him to mine instead idle.

Now what I want is to undestand how to chose coins right (dont need something for a long run, I would be trading them for bitcoin).
I was looking web sites like http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency but I do not undestand it (Economy is really not my strong side).
How can I chose best profitable coin for gpu mining at given moment, and what would it be today? Thank you for answer  Smiley

If you don't want to be coin hunting all the time, it might be better for you to just join a multipool, that does this for you. Most of them charge higher fees than standard pools, but the extra profit you make with them is worth it.
If you got that working out for you, you might give Miner Control a try too Wink While a multipool only mines the most profitable coin of one mining algorithm, you can make Miner Control switch between those algorithms, even between pools. All is automagically done, but requires some setup which will take some time to do, especially for a newbie Tongue
But you'll learn a lot just from setting up.
Miner Control main thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=769239.0
I'm also playing with this code myself, you can find my mod here: https://github.com/KBomba/MinerControl-KBomba/releases

Mining can be fun, but no matter how simple you make it, you'll have to learn the tricks to earn at least enough to pay for the power Cheesy

Just make sure you start slow. Your GPU will use extra electricity and when you'll check at the end of the month, you'll see that you wasted dollars worth of power for a few coins you could buy for a few cents.
I don't tell that this will happen indeed. But the chance is big. And you better be safe than sorry.

Maybe somebody can help and calculate with you all this to avoid anything bad.

As I said, try out a classic multipool first. You've probably got to learn from that first.
MinerControl works together with your miner you've already got to switch according to the best paying pool and algorithm. But to know for yourself what a good pool really is, and what all those algorithms are about, you need to try several pools and algos first.
I suggest you take a look at Nicehash and Yaamp first (Google is your friend). They'll pay you directly in BTC but each have their own approach to what to do with your hashpower. It's a good way to learn the mechanics, imho Wink
