Just went on Coindesk to check out today"s news - Now as you guys all know the price index doesn't always follow with media stories.

Anyway they are giving away 10% discount for purchases and the chance to win a Macbook Pro, you just have to sign up using your email.

They have more free stuff in the Giveaway Section.

Priced in USD, I don't really see it as very compatible with what they have been doing up until now, it's a little odd in fact.
Some of the prices look pretty good though, and the chance to win the laptop is worth a potshot, so thanks for the info.

I don't see any negative trust in your name.

Coindesk deals might garner some interest at first (because of the giveaway lol) and I hope that they will soon change the prices to btc, because they are a bitcoin news site (so why not go bitcoin all the way?) Good for Coindesk though. Checking out to see if they sell some USB sticks.

CoinDesk Deals is new to me. I didn't know they had a store? I have no need to create an account right now, but I'm guessing you can pay in BTC? It's not clear anywhere I have seen.

Well it was recently introduced in the web so it should be new to you. Though I think you can pay in BTC, the prices are showed on USD, which is pretty contradictory because as most of us know, Coindesk is a Bitcoin-news site.

There's no harm in registering. They have a very good promotion which I think you would like.

Agreed about the "giveaway" lol  - would have been nice of them to give away a lot more units - but it's not my place to criticizes them. Compared to the other BTC media companies they have a reputation for monetisation (way of the world). In that respect, I do think it's a clever strategic move for them, furthermore if they have good oversight of the quality of the products/vendors advertised for their affiliates - it could do very well!
Thought the same about the USD price, pretty sure they will work on that once they have fully integrated with their merchant processor (anyone know who they are?) and decide if any % margin over BTC spot index is required.

I only see the negative trust when I click on my name - not sure where it came from, I'm certainly not out to scam anyone, and know I'm a good member of the BTC community - maybe someone disagreed with something I said?

Why would they even bother launching and promoting that yet-another-deals-site if they don't accept bitcoin on it? For an attempt to be a bitcoin news site, they sure lack basic technical skills needed to signup for bitpay or coinbase, takes all of 5 minutes to do. Instead, they endorse paypal as an easier alternative on that site. Wow, such hypocrisy.

I think they are working on that bro : )

Personally, I like that they have the price in USD as this is the main trading pair for most of us. But definitely need to display BTC price too.
A lot of folks use them for their BTC price index ticker - So I hope they transparently convert all their products UDS price using their BTC ticker price.

Whilst commenting on post above - I think I stumbled on the reason that's the issue bro.

If Bitpay is their merchant processor for example? Bitpays' price index is different to their own index, in how it's calculated so they need to decide which index to go off.

Coin Desk's shop look very poor for now. I checked it and it is mostly a preview or a demo than full fledge shop. Did you see their 'games' category? It is some kind of a joke? But maybe in the future they will grow. Who knows.

Bitcoin payment is being worked on - switching payment providers is delaying it. It's not a case of 'just using bitpay'. The store is using a payment provider that has a bitcoin function which is just out of beta and requires coding time.

Bitcoin is accepted for the Regulation Report and also advertising, so there is not great conspiracy here, whatever others may say.

What kind of products do you want to see? Currently sourcing some cool bitcoin-related items.

Cheers for the info, good of you to chime in on here : )

Don't think anyone on this post thinks there's a conspiracy going on mate. Just greater transparency would be great as to; Pricing, International Shipping, Drop Shipping? (if the Vendor is not yourselves), Returns Policy, 2FA especially if we have to provide residential addresses...

At first I thought you guys might be using Shopify (which if I remember correctly has a Bitcoin option). But I had a quick look at the code and didn't see Shopify anywhere. Anyway, hope you guys work it - you need to be accepting Bitcoin! Hehe!
