This is a continuation of my earlier thread about installing a Perl script.

Well, I can confirm that it's working which is very nice to see. However, the FTP client that I'm using (i.Ftp) gives me the following options for setting file permissions:



Is the above equivalent to setting permissions to 755? Only a few files needed to be changed and I've kept the rest at default permissions.

Also, one of the .pl files contains my password in plain text but it doesn't seem to be reachable despite using default permissions. Does anyone know why this is? Obviously I don't want it to be reachable.

EDIT: Just found this article and it seems that the above is indeed equivalent to 755. Does anyone know the answer to the second question? Why is readme.txt viewable but config.pl not viewable despite having the same permissions?

EDIT 2: Think I might use something like ATBBS, TinyBBS, or MiniBBS instead although I really hate working with databases.
