Football Fans will be able to pay with bitcoin for their accommodation when they visit Russia for this year’s World Cup. Hotels in Kaliningrad, expecting guests from eight countries, are partnering with a local payment provider to offer the service. Booking a room for the day when England plays Belgium will cost approx. $300 in fiat.
Wow good opportunity for the people visiting this country then!! Ah! I wish I would have been visit their and seeing all the people paying with their crypto wallets. I mean would not that be fun to watch the crypto world actually working just fine in those hotels. However it could also turn out to be different story as to how many crypto lovers will visit there in reality!! If the number is good enough then it could be worth watching it otherwise it will be like the hotel wont be able to see the crypto charm coming. If it works then it will be crypto currencies marketing to those who are not aware of it. The hotels better be good one as rich people will be mostly hitting the Russia this time. Hm, seems good news though.

I think it is a great opportunity not only for football fans, but also for promotion of crypto in general. I hope more and more places will be accepting bitcoin payments in the nearest future

Finally, our country will be distinguished by something innovative. Enough for us to be everywhere second. I really hope that this undertaking will bear fruit.

Not surprising really, and not really that innovative. If you go to any major cities throughout Europe you can find hotels (and other businesses) willing to accept some form of crypto payment for services provided. I guess hosting the World Cup will bring more attention to the practise, but not the headline grabbing attention they might be hoping for.

This will be the another milestone in the bitcoin crown. At first Amazon start to accept bitcoin and then KFC in U.S and then the McDonald's.Now the Russian hotels accept the bitcoin as a payment. In this world cup some of the football player accept the bitcoin as a part of his payments.

This is a very good news for Bitcoin. This is an opportunity to promote Bitcoin. Nevertheless, this shows that the Russian government isn't really strict about cryptocurrencies and patronizes Bitcoin. This is definitely a very good publicity in favor of Bitcoin and this will make more fans and lovers of bitcoin undoubtedly.

It sounds cool. Everybody was thinking that Russia is somewhere behind the whole world, and now they are among the pioneers who offer the other people services for BTC.

Russia is going to get the shit blown out of them tonight in Syria. Nobody is going to the world cup. Didn't you see those Russian chicks in the news practicing to kick the shit out of English fans? Who in their right mind would go to the world cup? Russia is fucking all about violence. You go to world cup - your ass is getting kicked and you deserve it.

two things are very contradictory, when many FUD are scattered about the ban of bitcoin in russia. but on the other hand, a lot of news spread about using bitcoin as a means of payment, included in this topic. the truth of the news is still to be questioned, but even if this is only an issue, it is good enough to support the existence of bitcoin today.
