having updated to 1.4.16, wallet appears as new/empty (no transactions ever)

re-downloaded the chain already - took ages & no difference.

any ideas/clues as to what the actual...??

What is your account?

How do you input your password?
Check for a space before and/or after if you copy and paste. Try typing it in by hand otherwise.

What version did you upgrade from?


I suspect you may be inputting your passphrase slightly incorrectly. The tiniest difference (e.g. a space) opens a completely different account. As you are opening an account with zero transactions, you haven't been hacked but are opening up a so far unused account with a different passphrase than you think.

after signing out, in, out & in again - all is restored.
