http://btcfeed.net/news/sheep-marketplace-admin-arrested-in-40-million-bitcoin-theft/

One of the largest dark-net marketplace thefts occurred in 2013, when the administrator of The Sheep Marketplace – absconded with close to $40,000,000 million dollars worth of bitcoin (5500 Btc). Shortly after the scam took place, the owner of the Sheep Marketplace was publicly identified as Czech citizen, Thomas Jiřikovský.

Good. I hope he gets the maximum sentence. People like him are the one truly existential threat to bitcoin. Hopefully they catch the bitcoin trader bastards as well.

I hope the prosecution has all their ducks in a row as this miscreant doesn't deserve to spend any more time in public until he can make enough license plates or whatever to make his victims' whole. I'm all for restitution but sometimes these deviants need to be around the darker people involved in criminality. And yes, I realize that those that get exposed to the real evils turn out worse. But this butterburger needs to live amongst the scariest and worry day and night about his well being.

We just need to expose the concept that shysters can end up on homie lane and then the rest of these so-called white collar criminals can make their choices base upon potentially having to live on that block or choosing the right rode ahead and making right among their trusted customers. I think the latter will be the value judgement that will thrive and keep the rest thinking along those lines.

Hopefully it won't end up on an auction like the Silk Road funds, but rather be returned to the rightful owners.

Don't be stupid. If I had lost some money with SMP, then I'd rather remain quiet. I'll chose losing a few hundred USD to going behind bars any time of the day.

Right. These people will take a loss instead of getting busted by police.

A lot of people sell legal stuff on such marketplaces. Like that man who was selling pipes and stuff on Silk Road and claimed his funds were seized illegally.

Doesn't matter. The authorities will make you an accomplice to the illegal drug trade, which can place you behind the bars for quite a long time. Anyway... it is their call... if they want to take the risk, then what prevents them from doing that?

There was a $40,000 reward for doxxing him. I am not sure whether the reward was collected or not. Here is an article which deals with it:
