jehst, thanks for your note.

We're pretty much ready to go with the exchange, just waiting on final regulatory approval. We wish we could give you a better estimate of when that will come down, but it's really out of our control. But we feel confident this will be sorted very shortly and we'll soon be able to share the great platform our team has been building over the past year.

Thanks!

Best,
Gemini Customer Support

Sounds like they could turn it on now, but they want the Bitlicense finalized first.
I'm looking at April 27-May 1 as the likely launch of both. Nice, bureaucratic 30 days from final comment period ending.

I really have no life.

I just want to break even. They said it was going to launch in Q1 and Barry was saying his ETF would go live so I bought in March and ate a shit sandwich.

1. FUCK YOU, Barry.
2. I google the Winklevoss twins and they're shooting TV shows and hanging out with models. I can't get mad at that.

I think it is better to don't have expectations about the launch of gemini or other new "probably" services related with bitcoin (because if them will delay I am sure a lot of us will be very disappointed).

3.  Barry lied about Wallstreet getting in Q2 2014.  That was a fkn year ago, Barry.
4.  Another exchange launch will do nothing for the price except maybe a small PnD.  Look at the announcement of Coinbase's exchange launch... did nothing except a quick pump and then back down again.
5.  The twins are always a day late to the party, they keep getting lapped by other players

The ETF is the big news.  Not the exchange.  Then we will see if institutional money really comes in.

Will gemini offer any wallet services as well?

Gemini is probably where the ETF is going to source as many coins as possible. No counterparty risk if it's your own exchange.

That may actually be what the SEC wants to see before they approve COIN. A 100% regulated, insured US exchange to source coins.

Yup. There's no way in hell the SEC would've allowed something that had to buy coins with the present setups. I'm amazed they didn't chuck it out immediately. I wonder whether Gemini was a direct result of the ETF filing. Quite possibly.

They are likely arrived then. Short interest went up like a rocket in Q3 2014. The only two ways to make money in bitcoin are 1) game the price up and down and take money from retail 'traders' and 2) accumulate low then release the price higher.
