Am I missing something? I bet I am but I don't know what I'm missing cause im a newb to this :/.

Sorry if i'm posting this at the wrong place or asking a dumb question.

Also I have a amd athlon ii x4 635 processor 2.90 ghz.

I recommend using GUI miner. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Video-Tweak/GUIMiner.shtml

as an ATi your default should be fine. or a CUDA would work too I think.

can you link the card? I have a real hard time believeing a 70$ card can hash at 100m/h http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161386&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-pla-_-NA-_-NA

I use that gui miner, and thats my card. I feel dumb for buying it at the retail store insead of online ($120 retail price)
But is 7.88 mh/s a normal speed for this card?

What flags are you using? Are you sure that you have the card selected in GUIMiner?

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison says ~100 mhash

In GUIMiner, there is a spot next to device that's labeled 'extra flags', in it, either make sure it is empty, or has the flags -v -f 0 -w 128 in it.

ensure you have the rite sdk installed. Change the flags or try a different miner available in Guiminer.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison should get you some benchmark that was shared by the community.

You are most likely using your CPU to mine.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

An Athlon x4 630 gets around 10 MH/s, which is around the same as what you're getting.
