Is there a way to check if solomining is working from the bitcoind client?

My miners are sending back "shares count to low" which means its working on the client side, but is there a way to see total mega/hashes or shares submitted on the server side? (without having to setup a pool)
First there was Fire, then Electricity, and now Bitcoins Wink
