Is anyone working with electrum testnet?

It seems like it's not included as standard, like with bitcoin core.

I found this link discussing electrum testnet:
https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/541

Testnet fork seems to last be updated 1 year ago, and as I understand it, you'd need electrum testnet servers as well? Anyone running that?

There was also a link to some forked source code, and I see there's some initiative on what I assume to be their official repository:
https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/search?q=TESTNET&type=Issues&utf8=%E2%9C%93

So, people who develop for electrum at the moment just do all their testing on the main network (unpolite!) and wait for electrum to eventually support testnet mode?

What's the recommended way to develop for electrum at the moment with no official testnet support?

Any input welcome!

Electrum testnet would require a testnet electrum server as well.

The chief dev has said he uses real coins for testing.
