Hi,

I've been buying bitcoins every month to add to my paper wallet.  What I'm worried about if the XT fork takes place and I buy bitcoins then add them to my wallet will they become worthless?

will XT affect my paper wallet holdings when I add more to it??

The address represented by your paper wallet will not change. The unknown factor is what will a contentious fork do to the overall value of Bitcoin.

The fork is not supposed to take place unless all of the community of nodes and miners agrees that it should.  They will have a headache to set things up but for us end users there should not be any change, except for like Microguy says, the value of the coins may suffer from fear.

In the worst case scanario, when Bitcoin divides into 2 forks, the coins deposited before the fork will be withdrawable on any of the 2 forks (possibly on both, but not sure on this one).

There could be a problem with the coins deposited after forking. If you deposit using fork 1, you may be not be able to withdraw on fork 2. But your current holding is safe.

Your bitcoins are safe. If there is a fork you'll be able to spend your bitcoins on both chains so you'll just have to go with most relevant one.

Your paper wallet will be fine and all your bitcoins will be spendable.
