Are you sure it doesn't say? Copy and paste the message or post a screenshot. Did you have a paid signature (I know you don't have one now but people tend to remove them once they get banned).

Im join sig campaign before, but few minutes ago i removed my sig campaign and pm campaign. Why? Because yesterday i got the notif i was a banned, and i wait for today but the count down which  count my banned days is not count down *sorry my bad english

Well you have your answer there: Insubstantial posts+sig ad (14 days). The ban will not countdown but it will expire automatically after 14 days. Check back then and it will be removed.

Shouldnt the admins just change the message to something more descriptive so we dont see 1 post everyday of users asking why they were banned? Something like you got banned for insubstantial posts, spam posts or useless and pointless posts wearing a signature ad.

Seems to me that the content is rather fine, as the posts are still reasonable and have are part of the discussion. But if you scroll to previous pages then they are just made for the heck of the signature campaigns, which is probably the reason for the ban.

I agree with this suggestion.  Don't assume the person speaks good English (most being banned probably don't) so change the message so it is clearer that the account is suspended for xx days and they can post again after that time period.

I understand if the message is being typed in manually though - don't want to waste time typing in the same shit over and over.

Yes instead of showing something short and cryptic like "Insubstantial posts+sig ad" (which looks like it might be an attempt to cram the explanation into a varchar(30) database field originally meant to store short codes) how about displaying some user friendly text such as "The reason for your ban: you have written insubstantial posts while enrolled in a signature ad campaign." It does not have to be typed manually.

Boilerplates for ban messages. Not sure I like it, because it implies that we have a lot of bans. On the other hand its probably better to have a clear message why the account in question was banned.

Yes, manually, including the duration.

It already takes 30 seconds just for the backend to process the ban itself, during which time I can't load anything else on the forum. If I'm processing several it takes way longer than it should, I usually end up doing things off forum and getting sidetracked. So, shortest message possible that still gets the point across.


This is for manually applied bans only, regular permabans and nukes are pretty much instant (nuke takes a little bit while the posts are deleted).

You have less than a day remaining. You don't get unbanned on the 14th day, or it would be a 13 day ban.
