BTCquick sounds interesting but why do you have to show them your ID sounds kind of odd? Looking to buy BTC for WU from someone located in the US or Canada preferably, will consider others. Anyone?

That's due to MSB/FINCEN regulations and also for seller security. When you buy BTC through a legitimate/registered company and pay with FIAT this will always be a requirement.

www.coinbase.comI opened up a coinbase account last week and within minutes had my bank account linked up. The only downside was the 1 week wait to receive my BTC once I bought them. Once I had them, though, I was able to transfer them into Cryptsy without any hassle or fees. I haven't tried to go the other way (selling BTC and withdrawing cash) but from things I've heard it works just as easily.

I've also had great experience with https://www.bitstamp.net/. I generally get BTC from them within a business day or two.

What is WU ? As far as I know, in Canada, there is a site called cavirtex.com I think that was what it is. I don't know what a WU is though?

I have had best experiences with www.localbitcoins.com, www.coinbase.com is also pretty reputable. You need a bank account for coinbase, LBC has members that will accept anything from MoneyPak, Cash Deposits, or Paypal

You can also use famous exchanges like mt.gox, or btc-e (hard to send usd there).

You need a bank account for coinbase, LBC has members that will accept anything from MoneyPak, Cash Deposits, or Paypal Avoid Localbitcoins for the next 24 hours. They are dealing with a potential security issue and have temporarily disabled all bitcoin withdrawals. They don't yet know the extent of the issue and haven't determined if they'll be able to cover all losses.

[/quote] I sold coin right after I signed up and it was in my checking acct two days later. It was much more frustrating waiting to buy it back, but it was just for testing purposes anyway =P
