I have a question. I have 2 electrum wallets.  They started out named Wallet1 and Wallet 2. I noticed a few days ago they were now named Wallet1.tmp and wallet2.tmp, now they are named wallet1.tmp.tmp.tmp  Why does .tmp keep getting added to the file name? What is going on?

try with 2.2 and let me know
(rename wallet files first)
