Basically I admire this work for its ability to fit neatly into an economic model that includes both the digital age and a global economy, can include the people who don't have easy access to banks and just work without a third party sitting in the middle.

And maybe we should invent a new award, the "Satoshi," for the person who makes the most useful contribution to economics and/or cryptocurrency every year.

"Satoshi" reward could be a good idea. The reward can come from the coins mined by Satoshi when he expose him/herself some time in the future.

It's the small things in the Bitcoin protocol, really... How he decided how big the mining reward should be. The fact that that number, and any reasonable calculations can be performed with regular integer numbers, him protecting the public keys of addresses by using another hashing function from private key -> public key, even if the hashing function public key -> address is being compromised... beautiful!

I should have gotten into Bitcoin back in 1992...

The man is a genius, an absolute pioneer of epic proportions.
I fear his work will only be truly recognised & respected by the masses when he's gone though, that's the only thing.

I mean for my own selfish reasons I hope bitcoin explodes into the mainstream & is seen as an amazing invention & discovery by the masses (not just tech people & current bitcoiners).

I fear his genius may only be recognised in 40-50 years when it's too late for all of us to benefit from it.
A bit like a famous painter/artist whose work is only fully appreciated when he's dead.
