From a high level, there's two options:

  • Blockchain.info or other online wallet solutions with an API - Downsides here will be if they go down, you go down. As well as if they are compromised, you're compromised.
  • Dedicated wallet - This option has a number of implementation choices to suit whatever you need, but will be more complicated than the latter.

Let me know if you'd like that quote! Wink

Just realized I only mentioned about the work involved, and not the pricing.

If you want something that mimics paypals payment process, I can set it up for you for $300 and would take me less than 3 days.

There's a number of decisions you would have to make though prior to dev'ing this payment process. For instance: Where would you expect the wallet to be hosted? Locally on the same server as the web app you have? Or would you expect it to be hosted elsewhere and still work with the web app through the database?

I would recommend http://bitfreak.info/?page=tools&t=bitsci

You will just have to make a few small changes to the script to work with two different block explorers - blockexplorer.com is down and blockchain.info block your site ip for no apparent reason respond to support issues very fast, will reinstate their block explorer.

This is the best script that I have used since www.mybitcoin.com went down.

You can also try freelancer.com to find the one who can do it. Just signup and post your project there with max amount you are willing to spend. Freelancer will bid on your project and you can award the project to any of them.

Best method is to code in coinbase or what ever known exchange api has for merchant services.
Wallets on server worst idea ever.

If you want to take more then just bitcoin id recommend using coinpayments api.
Very easy to use and set up.
But the cost is going to come from how your cms is set up already with its merchant services and invoice system.
If there is neither you cost is going to raise.

Or checkout Litepaid.eu

Before i can even give you a price or other. We need to know what your script is like. Plain php/sql, etc.

On the topic of a wallet hosted on the same server as the web app being a bad idea: Yes. This is very accurate, especially if you're trying to have something as robust as an app store. It works as a "fly-by-night" solution, but is opening yourself up to more trouble than it's worth.

If you start with an architecture that has the wallet comm'ing with the web app through a database, your doors are wide open to other cryptos other than bitcoin and you have no single point of failure. It'd also be that much harder to track down where your wallet resides, let alone hack into it somehow. Also, if your comm'ing through a database, you can whitelist IP's with no regard to the environment of that machine, so if a crypto you want to accept only works on windows, you can still implement that crypto even though your web app resides in a linux environment.

Again man, accepting bitcoin on your website is not as easy as paypal, unless you are okay using something like Coinbase or blockchain.info (but  even then there are high impact opportunity costs involved).
