5870 SDK/Drivers combination under W7 x64

I did these tests so far with a 5870:

12.8	2.7	865/300	354

What is the best combination as of today?

It's still best to run 11.12 driver and 2.1 SDK

Now if you're using the newest version cgminer, I think you can get away with up to SDK 2.5 and still get a decent hash rate.

I have 5970's at 900/300 running cgminer 2.74 with 11.12 and 2.1 getting around 400 mh/s maybe 410 on some depending on their temps.

Oh and this is on windows 7 pro 64bit

Not much has changed for 5xxx cards in 2012. I always ran my 5870 with the newest drivers, but with 2.5 SDK. Some say 2.1 is faster, but I've always preferred 2.5 with -v 2 -w 256 -k phatk --gpu-mem 300.

I'm using latest drivers and SDK, bgfminer with diablo kernel.

820 MHz Core, 180 MHz RAM, 360MH/s per core

Windows Server 2008 R2

This is on a 5970, should be the same on 5870.

You don't want to use the latest SDK with 5xxx cards.

I actually tried to install SDK 2.1 and 11.12 but cgminer 2.7.5 didn't like and said that he couldn't find any usable gpu <opencl sdk not installed> even though 2 lines before it lists the opencl driver. So I'm back at 12.8 and 2.7.

Try 2.5. I always liked 2.5 > 2.1

LOL this is where the "ART" of mining comes into play. Some hardware likes 2.1 ( I use it on my hardware), and I have heard good things about sdk 2.5 but my thing is , if it aint broke, DONT F@#$ WITH IT! hhehehehe, anyway you need to try the sdk 2.5 and see if it can recognize the gpu's
