Refer http://minergate.com there they'll provide an option called 'smart miner' which is nothing but, the profitable cpu mining coins for the last 24 hr based on difficulty and market exchange rate.

Look into Gridcoin, it uses the BOINC network to do actual distributed research works/calculations that help the development of science and doesn't just "waste" computing power and electricity as traditional cryptocoins.

Works both with CPU and GPU depending on what projects you are working on. I had BOINC running before as well, now at least I get some coins for my work too.

I use moneropool.com for monero and xmg.suprnova.cc for magi. I use an old blade server with 2 quad core (single thread) XEONS @2.6Ghs (can't be bothered to look them up, but i think those specs are correct).

Don't expect to make hard cash, you'll get a couple bucks a week if you're lucky with 8 threads...

If you're a sysadmin, and you can use a couple hundred pc's on the other hand, you might make some extra BTC (unless it gets you fired ofcourse) Wink
