Just a way to increase post counts for ad campaigns. There is quite a lot of that going on around here. People are replying to very old dead threads all over the place and strangely enough they have ad campaigns attached to their messages. It just clutters the place up and is so obvious.
Or... they search up "starbucks cards" and stumbles across a post on the 2nd page.

Or... I see it's a dead thread, see someone recently posted and want to either find out if it's not dead or to tell him that it's a dead thread.

The thing is, you are wearing a paid signature ad. He, on the other hand, is not. Therefore, he really doesn't have much of an incentive to post on such an old thread, unlike you.
