Where are all the aliens?

It is quite possible that we have already made contact, if not several times. If you consider all the ongoing activity on this very planet that the governments are hiding, do you really think that they would inform the general population? I highly doubt that we are the only intelligent species in the universe. Statistically this is highly improbable.
I also think that the general public would not be able to handle such a event as contact with aliens. However, are also 'aliens' to some other species out there.
