Color me unsurprised that the sites I'd point to in the past are now squatted (cryptolaunch) or pretty much dead (altcoincalendar - NUKE is the last on the calendar), probably thanks to the waning popularity of most altcoins and webmasters wanting everybody to add their launches themselves (thus needing to do little more than making sure the site stays up while monetizing it, no need to trawl through forums for announcements).  Best place is probably still the altcoins announcements section, look for new [ANN] topics.

Sell the GPUs and buy some coin instead.

At this point purchasing BTC alone and sitting on until it goes back up would most likely be more profitable than mining coin.
Bitcoin is on the rise. Thanks, that's probably the best way to get some profit.

If you want to mine the coin of the future, mine Goldcoin (GLD). Even if it's not the most profitable, you'll be supporting the community, strengthening the network, and accumulating coins for your investment. Working together is mutually beneficial, more so than chasing the easiest dime.

Look into VNL Vanillacoin

Features:
-Can be compiled on any platform, including Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS, game consoles, etc.  No other cryptocurrency can do this.
-Full, staking mobile wallets with transferable wallet.dat
-Only other coin besides BTC to require only 1 confirmation on Poloniex.
-Unlike Bitcoin, Vanillacoin's global transaction pool is highly synchronized, which makes malicious block reorganizations nearly impossible.
-Active dev, most talented I've seen in the altcoin space.

Also, Smelter will get you around 450 Mh/s for a 280x so you'll be getting decent BTC value as well.

AppleByte is profitable for smaller miners and even pays a bonus to small miners (CPUs & GPUs) each time the pool finds a block.

The official pool is http://pool.applebyte.me

Go play games instead.

You have more odds of getting some decent money by making game plays, even bad ones, than by mining coins with GPU, at least now
