Use the force! Don't waste the heat!

2 antminer C1
220v pump
boiler with serpentine
(almost) not reactive cooling liquid
pipes and shit...

max temp on asics ~62c
lowest temp is under room temp! as the water from mains is around ~20c and ambient at ~30c

good for warm water on the sinks, shower, bathtub and washing machine!!!

upgrades: s7?; s5 for sure; maybe more miners and an in-line radiator to keep the temp in check, maybe with flex lines so i can move it in and out of the house

take care!

Interesting idea I know it's been talked about but don't think I have seen it in action.   Not a bad setup at all.  Do you have any math showing how much you save by using the heat?  Would love to see the numbers there.

Also I might suggest putting power and miners in air on something.  (appeared to be on ground I could be wrong).  But one of my water heaters had a small leak and got a little water on floor.  I would not want that to happen if miners are below the water heater.

....
boiler with serpentine
.....

Indeed, the hot water is not mixed with drinking water. Deleted my message. It's super clever.

Definitely cool (or hot?).  As I was making jerky over the weekend, I couldn't help but think that an S5 would have done just as good of a job as my food dehydrator...  Would be cool to see more people putting their heat to creative uses like this.

Its an interesting setup but honestly that will start leaking soon and I highly doubt it actually provides any heat.

where do you see it leaking?

i use special liquid and after ~2months i barely see clouding on the pipes
the loop is not closed, is at atmospheric pressure!

any heat? you must be very fun at parties! Wink

the electric resistance heater on the boiler is rated at 2kw and 2*c1 is a bit under 1600w counting the aircooling done by the fan...
right now i have ~50C on asics and i almost can't keep my hands on the return to miner line from the boiler's serpentine
so there is 150liters of water at ~50c, not good enough for you?

@OgNasty: i used the sp30 to dry my hair!

it's almost as good as my future tumble dryer project.

Space heater... done
Swimming pool heater... done
Hot water heater... done

Next step, the hand dryer.
