I've just sent some coins to someone, but they have to wait for their bitcoin client to sync with the network. In the meantime, if I replace my wallet.dat file with his, will I be able to send the coins and then replace my own wallet.dat? My bitcoinqt client is already synchronised with the network.

If this is about verifying the send transaction just paste his adress into blockchain.info. It'll be showing up there.

As long as you shut down bitcoinqt each time before you move/copy the wallet.dat, that should work.  If you are running an old version of the program, you might have to start it up with the --rescan option.

If he is running an old version it should update and download the 0.7  Cheesy

Yes Tirapon, you can do that. Just quit the bitcoin client, replace the wallet.dat and start it again. Pay attention to not confuse the 2 different wallets! They must be named wallet.dat in the bitcoin folder to work, so pay attention  Cheesy

Alright, cheers guys. Yeah I checked on blockchain.info, the coins have been sent but can't spend until his client synchronises. I'll switch the wallet.dat files over.
