Williamj had asked me if I "had any good deals on a senior account" after BadBear had given him negative trust. I told him that I am no longer selling accounts, however this shows two things

1) williamj did not have any accounts to sell/use as of when he received a negative rating from BadBear. The theory/claim that he was previously his and this is a case of mistaken identity is disproven

2) williamj was planning on purchasing a senior level account (which happens to be the level of your account), and you admit that your account was recently purchased.

I understand that you wish to "only" use your account for "signature purposes" however people need to be warned about your past activity and involvement with the scammer James Volpe and promotion of his scams.

I would argue that if the "investors" in the scam that result in 13BTC being stolen by the scammer James Volpe was repaid (I believe there is roughly 10BTC left to be repaid), then there would be less of a need to warn others, although you would also need to stop promoting his other scams and there is no guarantee that your accounts will stopped being outed if both of these criteria are met

It's either that or he's another one of his victims. I believe Badbear can easily check this out by ip records, but it's probable that he did just that
when he left that -ive feedback.

OP you should expose all info as when and from who did you bought that account, it's the only way you atleast have the chance to clean that .ive rep up.

cheers

You don't want to name the person who sold you the account and expect people to believe you? LOL.

That quote makes you closer to who you really are.
You can't runaway from admin's eye except you explain more specific about chronology how you purchase this account

I don't have any admin accounts currently, although if BadBear was wanting to retire from the forum, I would be willing to buy his account off him if he wanted.

Although I have never sold a staff/admin account, I would imagine they would command quite the premium. I would guess they would realistically sell for at least between 10 and 20 BTC, considering that both the admin accounts meet the following criteria:

  • Legendary account
  • Admin (only two in existence)
  • Level 1 Default trust (Level 2 accounts would generally command a between 1 and 3 BTC premium over "normal" accounts - provided it has a good amount of positive trust)
  • Several BTC of income potential from admin duties (I am not sure how much time is required to earn this though)
  • Positive trust

With that being said, I would find it highly unlikely that BadBear would consider selling his account, considering when his account was created, the amount of bitcoin he could purchase with the amount of money a nice dinner for two would cost at that time, how many more bitcoin one could acquire via actively trading at that time, and the fact that BadBear has publicly said that he is holding his bitcoin (although I am unable to find the post), as the above facts suggests that BadBear is not exactly in need of additional money that could be raised by selling his account.

Theymos would almost certainly never sell his account given the amount of bitcoin he holds for the forum, and the fact that he was CPU mining back in the day when CPU mining was actually feasible.

I would find it highly unlikely that any admin accounts would ever come up for sale anytime in even the medium term future.

-snip a load of stuff about the logistics of admin account pricing-

I...okay then. Quickseller sure does know his stuff Wink I find it unlikely that a staff or admin member would ever sell their account though in all fairness, that'd probably be found out and the user demoted extremely quickly. It isn't really hard to see when someone has sold their account unless they're sneaky about it, and even then, with staff I'd imagine it'd be even harder to cover that up.

OT:

1) williamj did not have any accounts to sell/use as of when he received a negative rating from BadBear. The theory/claim that he was previously his and this is a case of mistaken identity is disproven

2) williamj was planning on purchasing a senior level account (which happens to be the level of your account), and you admit that your account was recently purchased.

Ouch. Bet he still tries to claim he isn't william, or just vanishes now though.

My best advice is find a different signature campaign.  No matter if you stories are true or not, the neg will keep you out of Bit-X.  So go look into other ones.  Or maybe just post without one and let your account settle down, threads like this are not good.

And admitting you bought the account to be using it in sig campaign, I'm not sure you would be accepted even if you had positive trust.   It would be up to macro though as far as bit x.  But I cant imagine him supporting buying accounts.
