Just quote from S5 Thread
you can search in aliexpress for new unit in around $450
Just unboxed a couple S5's I bought a while back and found one of them had obviously been used excessively.  It has soot all over the heatsink.  I have submitted a WTF email to Bitmain...I guess they really are going downhill Sad

Used miner... it's like a used car.  Caveat Emptor.
It's no different than buying anything used; I mean, people buy used computers.
I like used machine because I know I will get a working miner.
If they came off of a production line, the chances are slim to none that there problems compared to buying a brand new miner.
Many have bought brand new miners only to RMA them same day they received it and lose weeks in production.

Plus you get 30 days warranty, so you're pretty getting a brand new miner that was used a few months.
Keep in mind, I was selling used S3's at near full price months after they were no longer selling from Bitmain.
Plus, who else here remembers buying new S1's for over $2,000?? XD
I ordered one from B7 but won't be shipped until around August 5.
Not the first time I buy a used miner, plus, Bitmain makes pretty decent product.

Kinda cheap made compared to an S3 but I won't complain, as long as it does what I pay it to, it's all I care about.

Bet you it still works great for a couple years.. My S1 has been running full steam for 1.5 years now.

Why is it still running you might ask? I like burning money.

Every miner you buy from Bitmain is used. The miners they sell now have been used not less then 4 months. Is it a problem?I do not think so.

Would I buy?No.

I have bought a total of 35 pieces Antminer S5

I've got a pretty strong one new miner - from Bitmain Warranty.
Those were two pretty new hashing boards and the brand new controller, not the whole miner.
I keep them curiosities like the biggest relic.  I have not used them yet.

But, unfortunately, all 35 miners were used, when they are  sent me from Bitmain.

I already terribly want to buy a one  used S7

I have 2 both "second hand" as described on the official site..

FYI: I've been doing this for years and have yet to come across miner makers other than the USB ones who don't use what they manufacture till it sales.

When TH ASIC miners first hit you had to wait months while the makers used them.. My first non-GPU miner was a 1.3TH blade and it took a month..

I have faith that one day this forum will get threads where people won't just repeat their previous posts or what others have already stated in the same thread. Also that people will stop acting like BTC is toy-money and start holding vendors accountable. Naive? Maybe.
