Running ecoinpool without CouchDB

i installed ubuntu 12.04 and tried to install ecoinpool then when i tried to install couchdb from the step's here http://pastebin.com/vjHVuJxq  couchdb did not install

is there anyway to run ecoinpool without couchdb if yes please can someone post how?

Got couchdb working without issues on ubuntu 12.04, think it was the faq above.
Graet mentioned one time that he only got exoinpool to work on ubuntu 11, not 12, i dont know why.

However, i never could start ecoinpool at all, always got the error message as documented in the thread.

did you get ecoinpool to start in ubuntu 11.10

i never could start ecoinpool at all.

After looking in all the public available poolsoftwares i ended up with eloipool and poolserverj, both working.
From a buddy i know pushpool is relatively fragile on load while poolserverj handled the same load easily but poolj development is discontinued/stalled for now.
About eloipool i only know its still maintained and used in luke-jr official pool eligius and in inabas eclipsemining pool.
