So every time I open the Bitcoin Core client I get the "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way, please contact it the applications support team" message and I've been reading similar posts and it seems like most people who've claimed to solve this issue did so by deleting everything except wallet.dat in your %appdata%\Roaming\Bitcoin folder and allow Bitcoin to re-download the block chain. Except I can't find any "app data" folder, especially not in my user folder. My bitcoin.qt client is saved in my program files folder and there is no wallet.dat file visible anywhere in this location. Is there a certain trick I'm not aware of to access this "app data"? or wallet.dat?? This problem started occuring RIGHT AFTER my client was done synchronizing with the block host and my bitcoin finally showed up, that I sent way before this process was finished. Then it seemed like everything was finally working as it should be then this. I just want to regain control of my bitcoin more than anything and I don't think I have a copy of the keys to the wallet unless they automatically save theirself somewhere when downloading the software??

If you can help me resolve this/point me in the right direction I'd very much appreciate it and if you could send your response/copy of your response to me via email at otf_2h4dii3@safe-mail.net I'd greatly appreciate it!

If you help me regain control of my BTC there will be a reward once that occurs!!

If you are using Windows then you should have definitly a AppData folder on your PC . Go to Windows explorer and write %appdata% then hit enter .

OK I found the AppData folder. And from what I understand if I delete all the files/folders in the AppData folder and reinstall the whole Bitcoin Core client that I should be good then? Am I supposed to delete all those files and folders and just immediately fire up Bitcoin Core to re-download the whole block and all that or am I supposed to delete all the files/folders in the AppData/Roamin/Bitcoin folder then uninstall Bitcoin Core, reinstall Bitcoin Core, and THEN fire it back up?Huh

Before deleting anything, find the wallet.dat file and copy that out to some other folder where it is safe. Then delete everything and fire up Bitcoin Core. If that doesn't work, then try uninstalling and reinstalling Bitcoin Core. If the program works, then go back to appdata and replace the new wallet.dat file in there with the one that you copied out.

Keep the wallet.dat before deleting the whole stuff otherwise you will certainly lose your coins this time , if you Reinstall and you stil lhave the same problem , Import your BTC here : https://blockchain.info/wallet/import-wallet  then send them to a secure Desktop Wallet like Electrum or Multibit which dosen't need to download the whole blockchain or anything .

be carefull deleting all folders under %appData%
this is a OS folder used from many programs...

1) backup your %appData%\bitcoin folder, specially wallet.dat where are your bitcoins, and the blockchain file.
2) delete %appData%\bitcoin folder.
3) reinstall qt-wallet
4) replace %appData%\bitcoin wallet and blockchain with files backupped.

you are ready to work.
