I trade(d) on Bitfinex. It's getting late in the game and i'm running out of funds.  Cry

I made mistakes not using stop losses at first, but now my stop losses are the ones making me loose.
It seems every time I set one, the market magically dips to that level. IS this intentional?
I notice on Bitfinex it doesn't show your stop loss as "hidden" even if you choose hidden.

Is someone able to see these stop losses? And use their capital to exploit them by dipping the price just so you're stop loss activates and then buying it up again?
Because that is what seems is happening. And how do they do this? I'd like to do be able to do this in order to understand it.

If my stop loss is too big, i'll not gain anything, if it's too small it will not pick up any momentum. Third problem seems to be the rotten people purposely activating my stop loss.

Except for the exchanges no one can see them. You could possibly set your stop losses to be lower than the current level, as if they do wish to get to that level they would have to go through all the orders between the current and your stop loss price. But its likely not the case, and is more of a fallacy to think of it.

Try changing the exchange and see if have a similar experience on the new one.

Stop loss levels are a key part of trading. In my experience, wide stops pay off. You often hear people saying they are taking a position with a tight stop, but the fact is, the market often whipsaws before it follows your trade. "Stop runs" they call them. Wink

The kind of trading you are referring to is very much professional and it is really hard to expect profits on that one ..
simple is to just buy and hold coins and sell them in some days ..
