scamming

Hello I am wondering two things I would like anybodies help please, I have been on YouTube and Google and there are people saying xapo is a scam and I don't know how true this is. And secondly I do have a bit coin account with xapo but it won't let me transfer or do anything else because I don't have a passport is there any way past this? Thanks for your help

Firstly, I've never heard anything scam related about xapo. they seem fine, ive used em for more than a year.
and since when do you need to be id verified to send/receive money on there. all i had to do was phone verifcation.

Same goes here, I used them for a month, but they had slow transactions for amounts less than 0.01 so stopped using them.

Been with Xapo for about a year now. Use them as a hot wallet for the smaller day to day amounts.

Never had any problems before. Transactions are quick and you pay no fees. Smaller transactions can take a minute or three to be broadcast to the network as they batch the smaller transactions together.

One important factor though if you do plan to use them. I will only use them for smaller day to day amounts and not to store large amounts of bitcoin. You do not have access to the private keys meaning that you do not control the wallet. Should Xapo go tits up for one or other reason you will be at their mercy to get your coins out if its even a possibility at that stage.

Get a wallet where you have full control over all your private keys, something like Electrum or Multibit or just search this forum for more reviews/opinions on the best wallet. But as said, make sure its one where you have full control over the private keys, if you do not it means that somebody else has full control over your bitcoins.

Users above gave their opinions while using Xapo services , I will give you mine while I never used it before on my life .
Xapo and those kind of wallets or exchange website that asks you for real informations (ID , passport , Residence etc... )  defeats the whole purpose of using bitcoin IMO which is "being annonymus" , I personally don't recommend using them (dosen't matter if they are big or small amounts really) Other then that I've seen some people using it and they never complained about their services .

You do not have access to the private keys meaning that you do not control the wallet.

This is the main reason why I don't use Xapo as a wallet. Their service is legit though, it's just not something I'll ever use

as far i know, xapo is not scam. been used for month and it's safe
but if you didn't confident to save your bitcoin, you can choose other bitcoin wallet like multibit, or etc.

Just because the names are similar doesn't mean anyone is alt of someone. Try coming up with proofs if you want to back up your statement.
