Does using a web browser vpn mess up transactions?

I was trying to get my bitcoins transfered to a betting site but its been 2 hours and none of the transactions have had even one confirmation. Its wierd because I did the recommended amount of transaction fee but its not even had one single confirmation which makes me unable to use the bitcoins.

I was using zenmate vpn on google chrome, does using a vpn mess up transactions?

No, VPN usage doesn't conflict with the transaction procedure (in any way). The issue is, due to the usage of an unconfirmed input (2nd link). In other words, that transaction should receive confirmation first prior to the transaction you posted here (that's making it's confirmation process to delay).

Yes, it does mean you send an unconfirmed amount of bitcoin first (that was the error a while ago), but everything is fine now (the transaction has confirmation already).
Sending the appropriate fee together with usage of confirmed inputs would be the solution (information for fees are mentioned by MartinL in below post, hope it helps).

No, the issue doesn't lie with your VPN. If I had to guess I'd say that you use blockchain.info as a wallet. blockchain.info is notoriously bad at estimating the required fee, which is why it says your transaction has a high priority.

In reality, the fees included with your transactions were on the low side. If you divide the respective transaction fees by the size of the transaction in bytes, you will find that they have fee rates of 65 satoshis/byte and ~77 satoshis/byte. According to 21.co a fee rate of 100 satoshis/byte is currently necessary for a transaction to be included in the next block.

They will likely both be confirmed relatively soon, so just give it a little longer.

Thanks for the reply. Does the unconfirmed input mean the bitcoins I tried to send were not confirmed in the first place..? I recieved bitcoins earlier today and on blockchain wallet, it was confirmed before I tried to send it to the betting site.



I missed alot of timely options, what can I do in the future to prevent confirmations taking this long. (If they even will be confirmed...)

The second transaction spent the Bitcoins at 1A1zkmNuk4ujc9CaiyR5iSS6Lr3rpBXWXc, which in turn the first transaction had sent there. So the second transaction had an unconfirmed input. That's not cause to worry, though. Both transactions have been confirmed now.

Increase the fee rate. If your wallet consistently recommends low fee rates and doesn't give you the option to increase them your only choice is switching to a better wallet.

You should be able to calculate your fee based on kbs instead of the amount that you will send. Your transactions got confirmed late because miners decide whether or not they are going to take such low fee transactions. Yes, low fee because currently, normal ongoing fee is 0.0002 btc and what you sent must have been proposed to you by blockchain, isn't it? Anyways, changing of your IP or using VPN has nothing to do with your wallets and transactions, so don't get worried next time you do it.

Using a web browser vpn does not mess up the transactions. I too use a web browser vpn but my transactions haven't been messed up so the next time you experience having long waiting time to receive the bitcoin, don't panic. It takes long sometimes because of traffic on blockchain, not on the web browser vpn you are using. You will just receive it after a few hours or days sometimes just wait.

I'm always using VPN when I'm browsing on the internet and mostly if I sent and used any my wallets and I'm mobile user also, and it didn't give me some issues about it. So I'm telling you that it's not related to what I've experienced and maybe increasing the fee will help you faster for confirming any transaction you'll make, don't be miserly for putting some fees so you can't experience this.

No it is not, the VPN has absolutely nothing to do with the transaction process, However if you are unable to log in to your wallet, it could be that your VPN is interfering with the webclient wallet site, you should disable/restart it then.
Also if you have long confirmation times, well, that happens sometimes. you could try to set some higher fee's on your transactions!
