Yes, the statement circulating around the web being that an MSB license would not as of yet be required to operate an exchange.

At the San Jose conference, Legals & Compliance and regulatory issues were a main and most interesting track.

Yes, I have seen reports referencing a letter from FINTRAC. However, we have not seen the letter.

The article in theregister.co.uk said the letter was sent to several prominent Bitcoin exchanges in Canada.

Yet, CaVirtex, Canada's first and arguably largest Bitcoin exchange, did not receive the letter.

It should be noted that CaVirtex has been proactive in following FINTRAC regulations.
