My phone had an incident today with some water . I only realised there was an issue when the phone started flickering. i managed to quickly send 1.5 btc to a paper wallet but theres still just shy of .4 on it and it looks like im going to have to reflash it. I have a constant boot loop which also happens in recovery mode but i can get into download mode stable. Does anyone know how i can pull out that .4btc?

thanks

I didn't think there was such a thing but I might be totally wrong.

Google is your biggest friend.

I once managed to get my google authenticator codes out of a non rooted phone that was stuck in a reboot loop.. So something like this should be a walk in the park Wink

It's possible that using ADB from Download Mode is the way to go. But even though it appears to boot into Download Mode successfully, it might not really be working at all.

Look up ADB bridging, find out if the command line will let you access the file system. If yes, then find out where in the Android filesystem that the Bitcoin Wallet for Android software stores it's wallet file. Copy. Copy to re-flashed phone in the same file location.

Its is this one. Ive been trying for the past few hours. i already had adb installed but i cant get my phone to register on adb. Just says no devicers. im thinking of trying flashing with a new firmware and then trying some file recovey program.

If worst comes to worst and you cannot get to the wallet file easily/cheaply, keep the phone. If bitcoin were to increase in value by a significant amount, then you could spend money on professional recovery (scanning the flash chip with physical electrodes), comfortable that your 0.4 BTC will be more valuable than the expense of the recovery service.

First and foremost if your phone fell in the water, clean it, dry it, and put in rice for a few hours before attempting anything. And then you can follow what other users have very well written: ADB via Download Mode

Maybe a guide like this?

Make sure you have the correct drivers installed for your phone. I had this issue where my phone wouldn't be seen by the computer and the driver was the issue.

If you are reading this,  you have too much time on your hands hahaha! If you're still reading this consider sending me some btc to my wallet on my profile.  Pennies make dollars and dollars make my life more interesting.  Seriously though stop reading this! LOL
