Hi all. I just got electrum and a friend sent me .7bc about 6 hours ago but it still has not arrived. It's version 2.4.4

I got the address from the receive tab and gave the to him to send to. I didn't fillout any of the info (description, requested amount etc) because I was not aware it might be required. I did it hours later for the correct amount on the same address I gave him and it's now listed as pending and has been for a couple of hours.

Did I mess this up? Is the bc now lost or still in transit?

Check the balance of the btc address you gave your friend on blockchain.info.

If it shows the correct balance there, maybe your electrum is not connected to a server.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, the balance on the address is zero. What does that signify?

Hi, thanks for the suggestion, the balance on the address is zero. What does that signify?

Either the btc were never sent or the transactions fees were not sufficient, so that the transaction was cancelled after 48 hours.

Ask your friend for a transaction id. It should show what happened.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

FYI it isn't required. You only need to send the sender a receiving address from your wallet.

It maybe due to the fee that was paid by you friend to send you... Maybe he paid nothing for the transaction.. Transaction with low fees take a huge time... Mine took me around 2-3 days to arrive Cheesy
