Hi, all.

I know little to nothing about bitcoin, but I recently had to use it & very stupidly I downloaded Bitcoin Core & had funds sent to my address before realizing that it takes ages to download the whole blockchain.
It took 10 days to download & then it was finally ready. I was very annoyed at this point so as soon as I had emptied my wallet I deleted the app (I do realize that was a dumb move).
Now, over 24 hours later, nothing has been transfered.
I reinstalled the damned app & this is what I see.

Do I seriously need to download the whole blockchain again just to get these two tiny transactions through?

All help is appreciated.

Right click on one of the transactions in the list and select Copy Transaction ID. Then go to a block explorer such as blocktrail.com or blockchain.info and paste what you copied into the search bar and search for it. It should come up with the transaction. You will be able to see there whether the transaction has confirmed or not.

It looks like you are almost done syncing so those transactions should show up as either sent or confirmed soon.
Do I seriously need to download the whole blockchain again just to get these two tiny transactions through?
With Bitcoin Core, yes. However, there are other wallets that you will probably like better. Those are SPV wallets which do not need the entire blockchain and instead get only the stuff they need from full nodes running Bitcoin Core. I would recommend you use electrum.

As long as you have the tx IDs or addresses you don't need to download the blockchain again right now. The tx is in the mempool and will stay there for a bit. From the one in your pic:

Fee seems a bit low, but it should go through eventually. For now, I'd just wait.

The higher the fee that you set, the faster that the transaction will be confirmed!
Transaction fee goes to miners in a generated block who confirm every and all transactions that the network gives your pool, the higher your fee, the faster the network fits your transaction into a block and releases it.

Hi there, I'm from South Africa.
This means I'm poor, I guess.

You have to sync the wallet (node) every time you close it. It will go up to date and sync every time you turn it on. If you don't want to use a bitcoin node you can download electrum/multibit and you don't need to download the blockchain every time you open the program.
