Lots of speculation going on here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=115669.0

The only FACT I see is that Nefario has closed the site and has gone missing.
That "Update:we will begin processing account closures and returning bitcoin later today." doesn't look good either to me. It's so Pirate-style.

Theymos has also gone silent. So far I don't think he is sure of this anymore:

Quote from: theymos
GLBSE user funds are more or less safe

Whichever way I see it, assets are surely worthless now, and coins are likely gone.
(no I'm not a troll. Just a tad frustrated.)

Whichever way I see it, assets are surely worthless now, and coins are likely gone.

The assets were only worth what the underlying company was worth. For example: the potential future dividends of that security. If the company was worth something then, and they honor the ownership even though glbse is gone, then the shares should still be worth the same.
