I wouldn't say dead, but its definitely hanging on by a thread.

As for the market cap on the coin and its daily trades is almost moot as the community slowly dwindles. It is nothing like it was and time will tell how well it holds on.

Is Dogecoin dead?

I guess it would depend on your definition of the word "dead."

http://puu.sh/kndbC/be302f5b5f.png

It's currently #8 in overall market capitalization with $45K in volume over the last 24 hours; that's more than the #6 and #7 coins combined.

Oh! wow this is a nice chart. I am new with bitcoins so can I ask you were, can I find this kind of charts? thanks in advanced.

Doge is great for micro transactions and tipping, people like it, it has a nice volume so no, it won't die soon. Maybe if sidechains take over the crypto world, we'll see.

The popularity of DOGE is indisputable, but it's useability it is. It can survive as a trendy tipping/donation mechanism used by young excited people, but it can not be considered a full currency due to many reasons.

For one the inflation does make it less attractive, but the volume might make it more attractive. Who knows really?

Doge was a good initiative but seems development has been on a decline, better innovations are rising, imo it's already passed regarded tipping/payments/group payments by GetGems https://medium.com/@GetGems/getgems-development-update-15-july-26-2015-68ac18abb5f6 it even has a Dogecoin group in the app.

It used to be in the top 5, now its going out of top 10. It is not dead, but its dying, and many more interesting coins are available.

It lost the battle with LTC, and now even with NXT.

Actually Coinmarketcap now puts us back at #5, between Ethereum and Dash.
