So the desktop computer I have is a Windows XP with an Athlon AMD CPU. I have tried following instructions posted on sites like getmonero.org and asked several people, but I seem to lost as hell when trying to get everything up and running.  I've tried using Minergate, and the miner it tells me to download (Windows 64-bit miner) won't open correctly when I try running it.  Could anyone please explain like I'm a toddler on how to get things up and running? I wouldn't mind mining boolberry, monero, Aeon, or whatever... I'd just like to put my computer to work, since it's already plugged in and sitting there doing nothing.

Follow these download and instructions:

https://minergate.com/altminers/claymore-cpu

Report back if you need more help.

You'll need a wildkeccak miner for Boolberrycoin.
