Tried to update to 7.1:
- removed old version (windows uninstall)
- removed all files in 'Roaming\Bitcoin'
- installed new version
- put wallet.dat backup in 'Roaming\Bitcoin'

Satoshi client won't start and gives me errors down below. Tried a few more times with reboot, reinstall, other windows desktop, ... no luck. (I did use the same backup file twice before this update so the file should be fine)

Code:
Bitcoin version v0.7.1-beta (2012-10-09 13:22:09 -0400)
Using OpenSSL version OpenSSL 1.0.1c 10 May 2012
Startup time: 11/02/12 09:55:18
Default data directory C:\Users\****\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin
Used data directory C:\Users\****\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin
dbenv.open LogDir=C:\Users\****\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\database ErrorFile=C:\Users\******\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin\db.log
Renamed wallet.dat to wallet.1351850118.bak
ERROR: db salvage failed

Code:

to another without clearing the database LSNs, or by removing all of

So whats next: back to 6.3, maybe try on Linux or ... just be lazy and ditch the 1,2 btc in the specific wallet file and move on, lost btc is good for long term speculation after all Smiley

Edit: same file loads fine in 6.3, I'm to lazy (busy) to figure out why ...
