Andreas M. Antonopoulos, author of "Mastering Bitcoin", public speaker, podcaster and pundit, is doing an AMA at:  https://forum.bitcoin.com/ama-ask-me-anything/i-m-andreas-m-antonopoulos-author-of-mastering-bitcoin-public-speaker-podcaster-and-pundit-ask-me-almost-anything-t2549.html

More about Andreas:

Quote from: Andreas M. Antonopoulos
Hello!

I am Andreas M. Antonopoulos. I've been involved in bitcoin for 4 years, 3 of those as my full-time and only occupation.

I'm a computer scientist with a Master's degree in Data Communications and have been coding since I was 11. For two decades I was a freelance security consultant, system administrator, IT manager and developer in a wide variety of roles. I've spent a lot of time working in the data centers of financial services companies.

Once I discovered bitcoin and realized the power of this technology, I switched my focus entirely to bitcoin. I've written a technical book "Mastering Bitcoin" which is published by O'Reilly Media and also available as an open source title. The book is currently being translated into more than 30 languages and can be read for free in 5 languages.

You can buy the book from Amazon here:
http://www.amazon.com/Mastering-Bitcoin-Unlocking-Digital-Cryptocurrencies/dp/1449374042

The source code for the book is here:
https://github.com/aantonop/bitcoinbook

I spend most of my time speaking at conferences, community meetups and doing interviews with both mainstream and independent media. You can find a collection of my videos here:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPQwGV1aLnTthcG265_FYSaV24hFScvC0

I'm also the CTO of Third Key Solutions that specializes in multi-signature solutions for companies.

Nice, I presume this is going to be a big one. I think Andreas is the most famous Bitcoin guy out there right now and always comes up with really good stuff, will attract a lot of people. I still find the most interesting guy to be gmaxwell tho, too bad I think he isn't doing an AMA over there.

Not sure about most famous guy involved in bitcoin but he's definitely positive for the community and its future.

Andreas mentioned that he'll answer most anything sans the event in Paris yesterday. Perhaps, the following may change his mind: http://www.newsbtc.com/2015/11/14/isil-militants-linked-to-france-terrorist-attacks-had-a-bitcoin-address-with-3-million-dollars/

He is not the most famous one but he is very important for our community. His way of speaking about Bitcoin, his enthusiasm and the level of knowledge is extraordinary. I always enjoy listening to Mr. Antonopoulos!

I don't really see what can he answer about this! Yes, they are probably using bitcoins, just like they are using dollars, euros, and anything else that can help them in plotting their evil plans. They are using cars as well. This doesn't make cars bad.

As for the article, French terrorist attacks are not mentioned to be directly connected to this Bitcoin address. But are they all maybe getting funded in this way and are the terrorists that acted yesterday getting funded from this address as well? This is well probable.

The author of the article is not mentioned...therefore, it is hard to attach too much credibility to the claim.  In fact, I have secret sources that claim the article is bogus, so who do I believe?  Maybe Andreas has some insight into this claim.

Must be a pretty good AMA as he made this wonderful and insightful book. Must be quite a big show as well. He must also be good at these kind of stuff as he does a lot of conferences and that sort of stuff.

I was sorry he left at the 2 hour mark.
I was looking forward to reading his replies to some of the later questions. Sad

It's unfortunate that the more you make people be able to be free, the better tools that criminals will have to get funded. Of course cash is still the number one, but once the goverment retires cash in the future, im afraid something like Bitcoin will be the #1 used tool by then.

Good.  That would leverage the power back to the people.  Now, band together and figure out how to use the technology that would be beneficial for you according to your uses.

It was just a pity that it functioned like a peepshow. You get 2 hours and if you are in a different time zone, you will not be able to ask questions. I see some of the AMA participants went well over the 2 hour mark. Andreas gets paid for his time, so I guess a time clock would explain the rush.  Sad
