Hello, I just starting to get into bitcoin and wanted to buy some bitcoin (around $50) to start out with. I didn't want to use paypal or local meetup for the purchase since I'm still new at this. So, I was thinking of directly buying it with cash through Bitcoin ATM, but I noticed through my initial googling/research that some of the batm around my area required a government issued photo id in order to buy bitcoin.

I'm kindna  hesitant about giving my out driver license just to buy bitcoin and you also have to scan your hand or something too.

So anyway, my question is basically do all the bitcoin atm in the usa required a photo id or does it just depend on the company that manufactured the atm?

Thanks!

AFAIK They all do due to AML and KYC laws.
