We've been messed about twice now trying to sell in the Marketplace section of BitcoinTalk.org
In both cases, a person offered a price, we accepted and then the buyer went cold at the stage of going to Escrow.com

A trusted BitcoinTalk member inboxed me and suggested trying an online auction instead so I wanted to reach out and ask which auction host do BitcoinTalk members prefer for Bitcoin related items?

The item we're selling is a premium bitcoin domain name (and a bitcoin website but most people are interested in just the catchy 6 character domain name).
So our best options for this would usually be Sedo or GoDaddy auctions (but if anyone has a better option in mind, I'd be happy to hear about it).

What I'd really like to know is.. which auction websites do you prefer in general for all things purchased with bitcoin?

In your opinions, who 'rules' bitcoin e-commerce?
(& I mean 'rules' like the way amazon 'rules' e-commerce for most things purchased with fiat)

if your selling via a forum, you have already failed.

use proper domain auction sites, or you will probably end up getting a low bid from bitcoiners who wont want to hand over too much bitcoin because they know in a years time bitcoin will be worth alot more. bitcoin is not stable enough for high value items and people are reluctant to hand off large amounts.

so sell your domain for fiat then use those funds to buy bitcoin. then you will get a nice proper fiat value bid. and the bitcoins you buy will be worth alot more in a year

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

I have to agree with the above statement.  If you should choose to go to auction, this forum would be your best bet.  Any auction site is going to give you a low bid amount.  You can try to sell it on eBay if you wanted, that will give you the most exposure, but you will probably have to accept PAYPAL as payment unless you advertise that you will accept BTC and hope that eBay will not take down the auction.
